The Opportunity
We’re preparing to launch our SaaS platform and are looking for a Founding Account Executive to drive early growth. This is not a “job” in the traditional sense — it’s an ownership opportunity for someone who wants to build something meaningful from the ground up.
You’ll help shape our go-to-market strategy, engage directly with universities and labs, and own revenue generation from day one. As you hit growth milestones, you’ll earn additional equity and leadership opportunities.
What You’ll Do

Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, demos, negotiation, and closing.

Build and manage a pipeline of target universities, research centers, and labs.

Collaborate with the founders on messaging, pricing, and positioning.

Collect and translate customer feedback into product insights.

Establish the early GTM playbook for PositionScale.

Build relationships with academic administrators, procurement teams, and Principal Investigators.

Over time, hire and lead your own team as growth allows.
Who You Are

3–7 years of SaaS or solution sales experience (bonus if higher-ed, EdTech, or scientific background).

Strong understanding of B2B buying cycles and value-based selling.

Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity — you love creating structure from scratch.

Empathetic communicator who can bridge the academic and business worlds.

Motivated by ownership, mission, and long-term impact — not short-term salary.
Compensation
We’re bootstrapped and focused on sustainable growth — so this role rewards results and ownership, not just activity.
Structure:

Equity: Up to 20% ownership, vesting over 4 years (1-year cliff).

Milestone Bonuses: Additional 5–10% equity unlocked at major revenue or growth milestones (e.g., $250K ARR, $500K ARR).

Commissions: 12–15% on closed revenue, lifetime residuals for renewals on owned accounts.

Transition Plan: When recurring revenue reaches a defined threshold, this role evolves into a salaried Head of Sales / GTM position with base + variable pay and team overrides.
